Wax-a-Peel is a destination day spa in the San Francisco East Bay.  We specialize in waxing, skincare (face & body), airbrushed tanning & Yumi Lashes.

Meet Leah

“Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, how you leave others feeling after having an experience with you becomes your trademark.”

With nearly 20 years in the industry, Leah is a skincare veteran.  She’s been a licensed Esthetician for nearly 15 of those years – having graduated from Robinson’s Cosmetology School.

Prior to founding Wax A Peel in 2011, Leah began her post-license career working for a Plastic Surgeon as a Clinical Esthetician – performing primarily chemical peels and cellulite treatments. She’s worked as the Head Esthetician for Clarins Cosmetics – helping them open their pilot store in San Francisco.

Leah also spent 2 years honing her craft at an upscale waxing salon – nailing down the best and least painful techniques for waxing.

She’s completed & received certifications for the level 1 and level 2 Advanced Peels Classes through Aesthetics Plus Training Center as well as certificates in advanced waxing including Body Beautiful Full Body techniques, the Cirepil Stripless Wax Course, and the Brazilian specialization course at Aesthetics Plus.

She’s extremely passionate about what she does and genuinely enjoys being an Esthetician. She calls it her calling and feels blessed to have so many wonderful & amazing clients that enrich her life.

Asya

licensed Esthetician

Meet Asya (She/They pronouns), lead esthetician here at Wax A Peel. Asya became a licensed esthetician in 2019 and has been with Wax A Peel since 2022. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with clients and loves to help others feel confident in themselves, inside and out. Asya specializes in facial services, including chemicals and hydrafacials, as well as as brazilian waxing and they are our Wax A Peel brow expert. Asya brings a wealth of knowledge from their beauty industry experience and 3 years of leading an esthetics department in a 5 star salon. Outside of Wax A Peel, she also leads advanced education classes in brow lamination and eyelash lifts. When they are not at Wax A Peel, Asya enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading sci-fi novels, cooking and giving back to her queer community.

Ella

licensed Esthetician

Ella has been helping clients look and feel their best for over 6 years. She attended the National Institute of Medical Aesthetics and is new to California, moving here from Park City, Utah. Ella is passionate about skin health and loves to create new connections with her clients. She is an avid reader and in her free time, she enjoys exploring her new surroundings with her dog.

Sarah

licensed Esthetician

With over 10 years of experience in the industry, Sarah has a passion for self care and prides herself on her calm demeanor in the treatment room. She loves making personalized connections with clients and ensuring every experience is comfortable and genuine. Having a variety of services at Wax A Peel makes her truly excited to bring more to the table. When she's not in the treatment room, as a native to the Bay Area she loves hiking by the coast, taking in the natural beauty of the scenery, spending time in the kitchen, eating out, seeing live music, especially with a hand crafted cocktail. She can't wait to show you her expertise!

Meena

licensed Esthetician

Hello my name is Meena Safi. I’ve been a licensed esthetician for 3+ years now. I specialize in full body hair removal including Brazilians and brows! I utilize with both hard wax and soft wax. Since joining Wax a Peel, I’ve added additional services to my experience including Lira smart peel facials, dermaplaning, and brow/lash tinting. My favorite part about being an esthetician is helping others feel good about themselves and creating meaningful connections. I add a touch of energy healing during my services and create a safe space for all. Aside from being an esthetician, I am a mommy to my beautiful neurodivergent son. I enjoy spending time with him and our pet bunny Momo. Thrifting, meditating, and music are amongst my passions. I can’t wait to see your beautiful faces!

Elisabeth

Salon Manager

I was born. It was Moscow, Russia Soviet style when my fate was sealed. Born to a mother who was an artist and a father who had been a political prisoner, my childhood was different than most. I graduated as a concert violinist from the Moscow Conservatory of Music and played all over the world. Birth of my son ended that career and I became a professional billiard player. Met my future husband and live in Moraga with our cat Meow-Meow and him. Later I became a professional muralist and have done custom works for different commercial establishments. As a client of Wax A Peel for 5 years, Leah was desperate to hire someone who didn't have any secretarial, management, or telephone skills, but who knew the services we offer and the high level with which they are performed. In other words, a shill. I am proud to work for such a wonderful company.

Rachel

Rachel is a dedicated and friendly front desk professional of nine years with Wax A Peel. A passion for providing exceptional customer service, skilled in managing appointments, handling inquiries, and maintaining a welcoming environment, ensuring the salon runs smoothly.
In her free time, she loves to spend time with her five children, two grandchildren, partner, and five dogs. She also loves listening to music and heading into nature to find new adventures.
